Allison Weightman has been a leading professional Ceramic Artist and tutor for over 30 years.
Allison creates hand-built vessels and forms that relate to her love of the natural environment.
The rich depths to her glazes are achieved through her development of multi-layering and multi-firing the work she produces.
Her work can be found in public and private collections in Scotland and across the world. Allison’s unwavering passion to keep ceramics in the spotlight led her to Edinburgh Design School in 2012.
Prior to teaching for EDS Allison played a large part in the development of two Highland Ceramic studios and galleries. (An talla solais in Ullapool and The Clay Studio in Inverness).

I’d like to repeat what I said in an earlier message about the quality of Alison’s teaching. It’s been a lovely experience to be taught by her for Foundation 1. She’s a great encourager and enabler, full of creative ideas. She explains stuff really well, and strikes a great balance between letting us experiment and intervening with some help.
I look forward to the classes starting again!
