Overview
Pottery is a craft discipline and demands lots of practice. The course allows the time to make that happen.
Students at this stage still concentrate on hand building and wheel throwing. You will:
- Work with tutorial support to develop and refine your pottery skills learned in Foundation 1
- Learn new techniques and creative approaches to consolidate and advance your skills
- Learn to use the studio equipment necessary to prepare and recycle your own clay
- Once you have completed this course you can progress on to our Intermediate or level 3 Foundation or apply for SQA certificated pottery courses
Foundation level 2 classes are in eight week blocks. Your work will be ready for collection three weeks after your last class. This gives us time to dry and glaze fire your work. The value in the course is in the learning and teaching, we want all our students to take work home that they have crafted and are proud of. Students prioritise quality over quantity and edit and fire only the very best of the work made in class.

Thank you for the experience in the pottery classes. It was my favourite day of the week!
I am moving to London in a few days, so I hope to find a place that is as great as yours.
